Picture
In Class
  • We finished reading/discussing Desiree's Baby
  • We discussed the ways authors have been using setting and juxtaposition to reinforce their writing
  • We worked on our T-Charts to choose a story and identify ways the author uses juxtaposition in different ideas to reinforce their ironic narrative.

Considerations
  • Remember, these are famous stories and have lasted the test of time, because they are much deeper than their initial reading would have you assume. Understanding how the authors have worked to reinforce their ideas by crafting worlds in specialized settings, using figurative and specific language, and painting a picture for you of interactions with people all lead us back to the heart of the message. Your job is to learn to recognize that al with equal craft.

Homework
  • Complete your T-Chart with all the evidence you can find in your stories so that you will be more prepared to complete the required writing assignment that you will have Thursday.
